Robert has extensive hands-on construction experience including positions
as a residential carpenter, construction superintendent, and federal and
provincial building official. His inspections are thorough and generally
take three to four hours. He takes the time to do things right and communicate
one-on-one while inspecting the home with the client. Robert’s fees
are based on the complete home inspection, not on the exact time it takes
to do the job properly. His goal is to find any visual indication of hidden
defects in order that a more informed decision can be made. Clients receive
a detailed written report of his findings, in addition to the verbal feedback.
Robert particularly enjoys working with first-time home buyers, and taking
the time to ensure they understand all his findings. “They’re
making what is probably the biggest investment of their lives, and
they deserve to be well-informed about all aspects of their purchase,” he
says.
